ABOUT THE GI AWARDS

 

 

The GI Awards aims to present a credible, well-judged and transparent programme that promotes and recognises excellence in the African gambling/gaming industry. The African gambling/gaming industry continue to contribute positively to job creation, CSI initiatives, government revenue through taxation, tourism and hospitality industries amongst others.

GI Awards recognises excellence by African gambling/gaming industry individuals/organizations and stakeholders who have achieved the highest standards of excellence, efficiency, transparency, and ethical conduct in their operations. The awards will raise standards in the operations.

Industry stakeholders will be motivated to constantly raise standards with the view of winning the awards, the spinoff will be a constant drive to improve customer experience and job satisfaction in the African gambling/gaming industry to match/surpass global standards.

The high standards in the African gambling/gaming will improve leisure, tourism experience and ensure a sustained industry into the future. The GI Awards 2018 looks set to deliver improved the categories for the awards.

 

Our CSI initiative

GI Awards supports responsible gambling initiatives from the South African Responsible Gambling Foundation (SARGF) and regulators across the continent. Each GI Awards event will:

 

  • Contribute to gambling industry related research
  • Support initiatives to spread the responsible gambling message

The GI Awards adjudication is based on

 

The criterion used for evaluating entries is the following:

  • Service excellence in the industry
  • Sustainability
  • Contribution to black empowerment
  • Contribution to eradication illegal gambling

About the Judges

 

The GI Awards uses adjudicators who are industry veterans and specialists in various sectors of the African gambling\gaming industry. Adjudicator’s industry experience and expertise will comes handy during the selection and adjudication process. All categories winners will be determined by both adjudicators and the industry at large through the nomination system which will be audited to ensure transparency, and overall no single adjudicator will be able to influence the outcomes.
